Skunk Encounter

Every year pets across the country are sprayed during an encounter with a skunk, and while it may seem like an emergency, there is an easy and effective recipe for “Skunk-Off” to handle the odor. Remedies like tomato juice or vinegar just cover up the odor. Chemist Paul Krebaum developed this recipe using household items that causes a chemical reaction to break up the oils and neutralize the odor.

Ingredients:
One (1) Quart Hydrogen Peroxide, ¼ Cup Baking Soda, and a few teaspoons dishwashing liquid

Steps:
Mix contents together; wet dog down first; apply mixture and let sit 15 minutes; rinse off – larger dogs may require a double dose. Be careful around the eyes and use saline solution to rinse the eyes if they are irritated.

NOTE: Discard any unused portion. Solution left to sit in capped container may explode!
